Youth Advocacy for Accountability and Transparency (YAATra)

Are you young?
Do you believe youth can play a role for "Better Nepal"?
Do you think you can contribute on transparency and accountability?
Do you want to build leadership and network in the local, national and global context?

Youth Initiative's Youth Advocacy for Accountability and Transparency (YAATra) is one day workshop for Nepali youth leaders. It is a broad concept that supports youth, youth organizations and other stakeholders to raise youth voices against corruption. This will enable youth organizations to involve and mobilize youth as active stakeholders for transparency and accountability in governance.
YAATra aims to increase youth participation against corruption, promote transparency, accountability and ethical leadership among government authorities, leaders, and political parties and their youth and student wings.

Major objectives of the Event:
To create awareness among youth through involvement in civic, political and contemporary issues.
To involve young people against corruption & promote transparency and accountability.
To increase youth participation in local governance and decision making process.
To enhance organizational capacity of youth organizations to act as watch dog at local level.
To draw attention of government authorities regarding transparency accountability and their responsibilities.

This youth guide is prepared by youth for youth who are interested in starting a youth-led organization. It is intended for youth between the ages of 16-29 who are relatively new to youth-led organization but have the desire to take a leadership role to make a positive contribution in their community.
